But, You Were There When
It Really Mattered!

Here is my favorite quote from Raggedy Ann Stories:
"We are indeed happy and proud of you!
For wherever one of the new Raggedy Ann dolls goes
there will go with it the love and happiness that you give to
others."
- The Penny Dolls
Isn't that wonderful? Every home that holds a Raggedy Ann Doll
has a very plentiful amount of love and joy that comes from each of their
rag dolls. It is amazing how much people love Raggedy Ann. It is very
comforting to hold your own Rag Doll in your arms when you are sad and
alone.

Few people have struggled so long against adversity than
the great Satchel Paige.
A quote he is famous for deals with age.
We all have to deal with age in our own way.
I am reminded of it when I think back on my recent 60th birthday.
His quote:
"Age is a question of mind over matter.
If you don't mind, it doesn't matter."

Satchel Paige
Born: July 7, 1909
Joe DiMaggio called Satchel Paige "the best and fastest pitcher
I've ever faced". In addition to the Cleveland Indians, Paige played for
St. Louis and Kansas City. When his Major League career was completed, he
compiled a modest 28-31 record with a 3.29 ERA. He also served as coach
for the Atlanta Braves in 1968. In 1971, Leroy "Satchel" Paige was given
the ultimate honor, he was elected to join the very best in baseball
history in the Hall of Fame.
1982 ( June 5) -- made his last public
appearance, suffering from the lingering illness of emphysema. Speaking
from a wheelchair, he graciously received recognition at the dedication of
a $250,000 renovated park, to be called the Satchel Paige Memorial
Stadium, in Kansas City, Missouri
